7 Days Pamir Highway Adventure: Dushanbe to Osh
Tajikistan has another unique and lesser-known mountain route — the scenic road through the Bartang Valley. This adventurous path leads to a village near Karakul Lake, from where travelers can cross into Kyrgyzstan. The landscape along this route is incredibly beautiful and unforgettable. However, it’s important to be aware of potential challenges: heavy rains or flooding can make parts of the road impassable for vehicles. If such conditions arise on the way to Gudara, travelers are advised to turn back, return to the town of Khorog, and continue the route via the more reliable M41 Pamir Highway.
