Clothing and Practical Tips For this tour, you will need light and comfortable clothing, as most parts of the route pass through warm mountain valleys. However, early mornings and evenings can be a bit chilly, especially in higher areas. We recommend bringing: several sets of light everyday clothes, one warm jacket and pants for cooler weather and a pair of good trekking From June to September, the weather is generally warm, but it’s always good to have some extra layers for comfort. In almost every overnight location, there are small local shops, where you can buy snacks, drinks, or other small items you may need. It’s a good idea to carry some cash in local currency (KGS), as card payments are usually not available in remote mountain areas.
Sary-Chelek Biosphere Reserve is one of the most beautiful and ecologically important natural areas in Kyrgyzstan and is protected by UNESCO. The reserve is famous for its deep blue alpine lake, surrounded by steep forested slopes and snow-capped peaks. The area is home to rich biodiversity, including walnut, apple, and juniper forests, as well as many species of birds and wildlife. The main Sary-Chelek Lake lies at an altitude of about 1,873 meters and changes color depending on the season and weather, creating stunning reflections. The reserve offers peaceful hiking opportunities, fresh mountain air, and untouched natural scenery.
In the morning, drive up to Sary-Chelek Lake, one of the most beautiful alpine lakes in Kyrgyzstan. After lunch, continue to Arslanbob, Accommodation: Guesthouse in Arslanbob Arslanbob is a legendary mountain village known for having the largest natural walnut forest in the world. The forest covers thousands of hectares and has been used by local people for centuries. According to legends, walnuts from this region were spread along the Silk Road. The village is also famous for its Big and Small Waterfalls, scenic viewpoints, and warm local hospitality. Arslanbob offers a unique combination of nature, culture, and traditional village life, making it one of the highlights of southern Kyrgyzstan.
Take a hike to the Big Waterfall, descend to the Small Waterfall, and visit the Kyzyl-Unkur Cave. Then drive to Usgen Minaret and Mausoleums onward drive to Kara-Kulja village Accommodation: Guesthouse in Kara-Kulja town Kara-Kulja is a beautiful small town nestled in the mountains. After leaving Arslanbob, The journey directs here for an overnight stay in a local guesthouse.

Kara-Kulja is a small and peaceful mountain town located at an altitude of approximately 1,475 meters. Surrounded by rolling hills, valleys, and mountain slopes, the town offers a calm atmosphere and a glimpse into everyday rural life in Kyrgyzstan. After traveling through Arslanbob and Uzgen, Kara-Kulja provides a relaxing stop for overnight accommodation. The area is known for its clean air, friendly locals, and scenic surroundings, making it a comfortable transition point between forested regions
After breakfast, we start the day with a visit to the Museum of Large Wild Animals, one of the most interesting local attractions. Then our journey continues along a stunning mountain road that passes through the picturesque villages of Ylai-Talaa, Toguz-Bulak, and Kara-Bulak. The route offers breathtaking views of the mountain slopes, valleys, and alpine meadows. We make several stops along the way to take panoramic photos and enjoy the amazing scenery that opens up at every turn. The drive is long but full of impressions and beautiful landscapes. After crossed the Suuk-Dobo pass (2450m) we descend to the mountain town of Gulcho, and then continue towards Sary-Mogol village, located in the heart of the Alay Valley. Upon arrival, we check into a local guesthouse.
Drive to Tulpar-Kol. Leave the heavy bags in yurt, walk to the traveler’s pass through the Base Camp enjoy the panoramic view of Lenin Peak, lunch then come back to the yurt with same route. Overnight in same yurt.

Description: This trail takes you through alpine meadows and ascends to the Travelers' Pass (~4,130 m), offering breathtaking views of the whole view of Lenin Peak and the Alay Valley below. The high altitude and steep sections make this hike more challenging but rewarding.
If you don't want to go all the way to the pass then you will have the opportunity to get to the base camp (there and back 6 km 3 hours)
This route not only provides a practical connection between the remote mountain village of Sary-Mogol and Osh but also offers a journey filled with spectacular scenery and cultural experiences along the way
